spezial offer!!! form and function’s second release comes by the hand of a. brehme. over the years the brussels based artist has build a solid reputation as a dj through both frequent appearances as well as curating his own nights at fuse club in brussels. this alongside being a coresident together with peter van hoesen at technoon and playing in clubs such as de school, grelle forelle, suicide circus and more. after years of silent but devoted work in the studio a. brehme is ready to release his debut ep consisting of four powerful cuts that perfectly reflect the sound and mindset he gained his reputation with.

on the a-side things start of with “inityiat” which simply can be seen as a distorted form of “initiation”. starting of hypnotic, the track slowly progresses adding a plethora of subtle percussive elements. an ethnic and mysterious chanting complements the latter throughout the sonic voyageand caters for a promising start. part two of the a-side, “hata isler”, takes off where “inityiat” ended, but amplified in strength. subliminal voices manipulated harmoniously into the pads are mixed with sophisticated alternations of snares and hats. the result: a perfect continuation of the spirit the first track. side b commences with “insan”, a title that serves the track right. straight forward, upgrading the tempo of the previous tracks into a drive that’s impossible to resist. the maelstrom of drones and soundscapes on a layer of thundering sounds, induce a new stage of sonic hypnosis, until it gradually phases out into silence. “tzotzil” on the other hand is a skillfuly crafted tooltrack that’s build around a glooming and reverbing baseline.

dark entries and emotional rescue team up to further explore psychic tv’s acid house years. psychic tv was formed by genesis p-orridge and peter christopherson of throbbing gristle with alex fergusson of alternative tv in 1981. after various line up changes, the band shifted direction to dance oriented songs influenced by the house and techno scenes of detroit and chicago. by 1988 the group included dave ball of soft cell, fred giannelli of turning shrines and matthew best of carcrash international. during the summer of 1988 the group recorded a batch of songs at time square studios in london that would appear under the guise of various artists compilations jack the tab’ and ‘tekno acid beat’. the idea behind these ‘compilations of imaginary artists was creating a sense that a healthy acid house scene existed in the uk. virginia was the studio project of dave “mista luv” ball and then-wife virginia “gini” ball, a classical violinist who toured and recorded with siouxsie and the banshees and marc almond.

throbbing gristle gelten heute zu recht als die wichtigsten vertreter der klassischen industrial music. die band ging aus der aktionskunstgruppe coum transmissions (ct) hervor, die etwa ende 1969 von cosey fanni tutti und genesis breyer p-orridge gegründet wurde. 1974 stieß der im jahr 2010 verstorbene designer und techniker peter sleazy christopherson zu ihnen, im jahr darauf chris carter. zum 40. jahrestag seiner erstveröffentlichung wird am 03.11.2017 -the second annual report- als limitierte edition auf weißem vinyl im original packaging inklusive downloadcode erneut veröffentlicht werden.

moon boots aka peter dougherty veröffentlicht sein erstes album für anjunadeep. ursprünglich aus brooklyn stammend, machte er seine ersten schritte zunächst in chicago, inspiriert durch legenden wie derrick carter und frankie knuckles, auf dem label french express. prominente unterstützung fand er durch bbc radio 1s annie mac und kcrws jason bentley, so dass er schnell eine internationale fangemeinde etablieren konnte. sein durchbruch gelang auf anjunadeep mit dem track -red sky-, der von tensnake, skream, claude vonstroke, tiga und vielen anderen gespielt wurde. auf seinem debütalbum -first landing- zeigt er die ganze bandbreite seines könnens und liefert von klassischem us-house mit funk- und soul-einflüssen über electronica, sonnigen r&b bis hin zu launischen dancefloor-tracks eine übergangslos runde mischung ab. gastbeiträge stammen von fiora, lulu james, janelle kroll, king kona, nic hanson und black gatsby.

marc durif alias nova nova rencontre malcolm maclaren en 2005 pour lequel il compose le titre love will (dernier titre de l album) mais aussi un remix de-love will tear us apart-au piano (sorti l annee derniere (7inch). titres qui restent dans les tiroirs suite au deces de maclaren. mais fort heureusement ce premier titre circule (grâce à maclaren) vers quelques destinataires de choix dont le celebre peter hook (bassiste et fondateur de joy division et de new order) qui le joue au debut de tous ses dj sets, tout en ne connaissant pas le nom des producteurs. il dit le jouer car il provoque chez lui a chaque fois une forte émotion. marc durif en compagnie de nombreux artistes sest attele par la suite a la composition du quatrième album neo-classic. la suite de composition de ce disque renvoie dos a dos la pop synthétique romantique de ten cc et l’impressionnisme de debussy pour s’assembler dans une vision neo-classique.

elegant divide are peter oldroyd and samantha gare, based in london uk. formed in 2014 elegant divide combines the talents of classically trained vocalist samantha gare and electronic pop music pioneer peter oldroyd. peter is a well-known mix engineer and record producer, and best known for his 1980 s experimental synth pop band camera obscura. samantha, trained at the italia conti academy of theatre arts, has experienced chart success before and lends her distinctive voice to the project. elegant divide expresses the dichotomy of dark and light in electronic music with songs that explore lyrically the emotions of urban living. with the use of vintage synthesisers (moog prodidy / source, novation bass station, nord lead 2, paia fatman, polyfusion modular, yamaha dx7) and drum machines (roland tr-909 / tr-808 / tr-707 / tr-505, yamaha rx17) their sound is rich and analogue, and samantha s cool vocal delivery creates a mood that is simultaneously accessible pop and dark and haunting.

revival is an as-of-yet totally undiscovered electric jazz rock recording from 1977 composed by visual artist and multi instrumentalist herbert bodzin. it features brilliant soulful fusion with echoed fender rhodes, phased flute, and electric bass and guitar. most tracks are overdubbed with synthesizers. fellow musicians are hans kämper (of legendary krautrock group annexus quam), bernd szemeitzke, peter johannesdotter and bernd schöttner. unreleased instrumental versions taken from the rare protest album niedersächsische schlachteplatte.

a complex web – the story of dive position and the shining path ... began in 1982 when peter miller (aka dr. william s ray – vocals, tapes, guitar) met andrew millar (aka maurice spectograph the nose-y pieman – program execution) in gold coast, australia. while sharing a similar taste in music, they decided to form a band, so dive position was born. equipped with a korg synthesiser and tascam 4-track recorder, they -wanted to have the sound of kraftwerk, the groove of can, and the menace of throbbing gristle-, ending up with -a cross of suicide and the residents-, as peter recalls. in a local record shop they met stig andre leonardson (aka vincent blackshadow), who joined the duo on percussion and drum machine programming. their motto was -now is then-. dive position then became the fatal charm around 1984, and the fatal charm became the shining path who eventually released their only album -basic training manual- in an edition of only 250 copies, most probably in 1986. the band then started to drift apart, and shortly after andrew sadly passed away – this compilation -now is then- comprised of previously unreleased dive position and the shining path material is dedicated to his memory.

after the great welcome of the first three releases supported among others by raresh, peter inspirescu, ricardo villalobos. the enigmatic viceversa is back with the fourth chapter of this adventure full of mystery and fascination.

the album is a collection of wonderful, emotional and very personal songs. written and performed by peter wangel, the lyrics are inspired by multi award winning, temporary norwegian writer karl ove knausgard and deal with very personal subjects from his own life. “the previous releases were about the “lonely” feelings, the feelings that only existed in me, the feelings i wanted to set free for a long time. the new album is about my life as it is right now, about all the thoughts, expectations, worries and the happiness that comes with a new life as a family. this is a very personal album, but i also hope to express something very ordinary and something that most people can relate to.- also musically the album is a big step forward for wangel, the melodies are still subtle, but offer more nuances and colors.

neben einer neu gemasterten singleversion von »heroes« wartet auf der aa-seite der schallplatte außerdem eine bislang unveröffentlichte liveaufnahme des songs aus marc bolans fernsehshow »marc«. die aufnahme entstand am 7. september 1977 und war die erste liveperformance von »heroes«.

was auf oracle ungeschliffen passiert, ist der erste output einer deutschen jazz supergroup. zunächst wollte man ein unperfektes spiritual jazz album aufnehmen, das vorbildern aus den siebzigern fröhnt (strata east, black jazz et cetera), einfach mal der leidenschaft nachgehen. und man wollte eine fiktive band erfinden, die es nicht gab, und rausposaunen, es handelt sich um ein unveröffentlichtes album von namhaften und beseelten typen aus den 70ern. nun ja: dann hätte man nie live konzerte geben können, von interviews ganz zu schweigen. kurzum, es wäre schwierig gewesen, das geheim zu halten, also hat man sich entschlossen, die identitäten preiszugeben: web web sind: roberto di gioia (piano, synth, percussion), tony lakatos (tenor- und sopranosaxophone), christian von kaphengst (upright bass) und peter gall (drums).

utter presents rgbpm, trevor jackson s four piece audio-visual work originally commissioned for a live performance at the optronica festival in 2007, on london s imax, the biggest screen in the uk. optronica, programmed by addictive tv/cinefeel in collaboration with the british film institute, held its second festival over five consecutive days at the imax, ica and bfi southbank in march 2007. a showcase of the most exciting talent working in visual music, optronica s 2007 event was a platform for live performances, talks, screenings and workshops from the likes of fennesz, peter greenaway and ryoichi kurokawa. jackson s piece took over six months to develop and yet was performed only once. on march 14th the premier of rgbpm opened the festival in spectacular fashion, jackson performing the music live with its accompanying hd visuals generated in real time using custom-built software created especially by weirdcore. a powerful multi-sensory experience, the event remains one of the defining moments of jackson s lengthy career. the visuals consist of abstract shapes synchronised perfectly to jackson’s soundtrack. choreographed to represent musical elements within each track, they explore the relationship between melody, colour, rhythm and form. the diverse soundtrack combines magical motorik experiments, demented acidic jams, melodic subterranean techno and dark discordant electronic soundscapes. it s a timeless selection of music that holds its own to this day. a decade on from rgbpm s lone airing, utter is proud to release all four parts together for the first time as a special 12- package, mastered and cut by helmut erler at d&m and housed in a sleeve designed by jackson himself.
